About the role

As a Test Lab Technician at ASSA ABLOY, you will become part of a dynamic R&D team where you will work with products related to ASSA ABLOY's Pedestrian (BSP) business segment. The main products are sliding doors, swing doors, revolving doors, and security entrance controls. You will primarily maintain and manage the progressive test lab and perform manual testing of automatic doors and related systems.

Work tasks

In the role of Test Lab Technician, you will collaborate with colleagues from across the organization – from test leaders and product specialists to mechanical engineers. You will work hands-on with ASSA ABLOY's various types of door systems, from sliding and swing doors to more complex revolving doors and security entrance controls. An important part of your job is to design and maintain test rigs that enable precise product testing under different conditions. When technical challenges arise, your expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving becomes crucial to driving development forward. You will perform manual tests according to defined test cases, carefully document the results, and actively work on improvements. Additionally, you ensure that test setups are safe and adapt equipment to new needs to continuously optimize the testing process. Your main responsibilities:

• Build and maintain everything from physical doors to advanced test rigs
• Ensure that all test setups are safe to use
• Troubleshoot and solve technical problems related to hardware and electronics
• Contribute ideas to streamline and improve test processes
• Perform manual tests during system testing and document the results
• Build cables, assemble electronics, and write documentation for implementations

We are looking for

• Strong interest in hardware and electronics
• Experience in testing or installing electromechanical products and systems with embedded software
• Good understanding of electronics and how mechanical and electrical components interact
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and perform troubleshooting
• Comfortable communicating in both written and spoken English

It is meritorious if you have

• Experience as a technician or installer of automatic doors
• Experience maintaining test environments and performing manual testing
• Knowledge of product-related technologies such as CAN, BLE, sensors, etc
• Proficient in communicating in both written and spoken Swedish
