About the role

Mycronic has experienced strong growth in recent years, both organically and through acquisitions. Headquartered in Sweden, Mycronic is a global organization with subsidiaries, agents, and distributors in over 50 countries. The company is structured into four divisions, and in this role, you will be part of the Assembly Solutions High Flex (HF) division. This division develops equipment and solutions for surface mounting, catering to electronics manufacturers with high demands for rapid production adaptation while maintaining efficiency and customers operate in industries such as aerospace and automotive among others. The High Flex division currently consists of approximately 450 employees globally, with around 170 working specifically in R&D. Since the current System Test Leader is transitioning to a new role within Mycronic, we are seeking her replacement. Your team will consist of around 10 team members, including software engineers, architects, and two testers. In this role, you will take an overall responsibility for driving the test work within in the team, planning test activities, and conducting hands-on testing yourself. Beyond your immediate team, you will collaborate with R&D colleagues in Japan, Czech Republic, and France, as well as with in-house production teams and you will report to Niklas Andersson ,Group Manager.

Work tasks

You will work with software testing for Mycronic's Jet Printing products, participating in the entire development process—from requirements specification and product design in collaboration with the architects to delivering a fully tested product. This role offers you the opportunity to influence product design, making them easier to test. It is ideal for someone with a strong interest in testing and a desire to enhance how Mycronic approaches testing and drives test planning within the team. Mycronic are using Xray plugin for test definition and planning, and Confluence for information sharing and storing test plans. They also use Git, CI/CD, and Python to write and automate tests. You will join a stable and highly skilled team, where you will not only collaborate closely with your immediate colleagues but also have access to the broader testing expertise within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the regression test suite
  • Participate in project planning and develop test plans for each release
  • Assist in specifying and creating requirements to ensure testable functions
  • Lead and plan the test team’s activities to ensure quality according to schedules
  • Execute hands-on tests on machines, including functional and regression tests
  • Participate in planning beta tests
  • Develop automated tests
  • Create test reports and communicate status updates to project management

We are looking for

This is a role for someone with strong organizational and collaborative skills, as well as the ability to lead and coach team members and develop the testing area. You also possess the capability to make decisions and determine when the quality is at a level that makes the system ready for release. The challenges in this role include ensuring that the products maintain high quality while also sustaining speed and efficiency to prevent project delays. To succeed, you and your closest colleagues will need to work together to maintain and improve the testing process while continuously seeking further enhancements.

Furthermore you have…

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics, mechatronics or similar
  • Several years of work experience with software testing preferably with products containing both hard- and software
  • Knowledge in GIT and CI/CD
  • Knowledge in Jira and Xray plug in or similar tools
  • Strong knowledge in English, both written and spoken

We see it as a merit if you have…

  • Experience in programming and DevOps
  • Knowledge in Swedish
